Analysis

The project was started on December 3, 2015 and after many months of allowing the ohia lehua seeds to germinate, the site was revisited on April 2, 2016.  After the 4 months, we revisited the site and collected visual data.  The data observed shows us that planting ohia seeds on moss and moss logs were more successful in growing ohia then on the bare ground and on logs.

Compared to the bare ground host, the moss and the log showed a greater ohia regeneration.  Some factors that could have contributed to the variance of ohia growth among hosts is the weather.  If it rained constantly or was very windy, it could have blown or washed away a lot of the seeds placed on the bare ground because the seeds were not embeded in something.  Unlike the moss, the moss log, and the log which had a place for the seeds to be be embeded.
