The DLNR and DOFAW are huge participants in environmental laws.  They help to make, regulate, and enforce certain laws to protect the environment.  The DLNR also offers many jobs for people who are interested in forestry and wildlife from being a hunter to even hiking and collecting data at different forests.  The only problem is that the state doesn't have enough money to pay people to enforce laws, so laws are often broken which puts forests at risk of being destroyed.
